Budgets and spending

This year we will spend £212 million. Just under half comes from council tax. The rest comes from the government, business rates and the fees on our fees and charges page.

We publish every payment over £500 each month, so anyone can check what we buy and from whom.

Our plan to 2030

Four things we said we'd do, and where each one has got to.

  1. Every page written in plain English

400 pages rewritten and tested with residents. Calls about bins fell by a fifth.

    Done
  2. Weekly food waste collections

Caddies arrive in March. What changes for you.

    Next
  3. 500 new council homes

212 are built or being built in Northfold and Weir.

    Planned
  4. Council buildings run on clean power
